Sheriff Rob Nou
Rob Nou was sworn in as San Juan County's Sheriff on January 10, 2011, succeeding William Cumming.

Sheriff Nou took office with 29 years working experience in law enforcement, including two years as a San Juan County Deputy Sheriff based on Lopez Island.

Prior to coming to the San Juans, he spent more than three decades in sheriff's and small town policing in Oregon.
Sheriff Cumming Undersheriff Jon Zerby has been a law enforcement officer since 1968 and has been with the San Juan County Sheriff's office since 1988. He holds a B.A. degree in Behavioral Science from Oglethroupe University and a Masters Degree in Social Science from Pacific Lutheran University. He is married and has one son.
