Land Use Information
The Land Use Division of the Community Development and Planning Department administers
the San Juan County Unified Development Code (UDC), which contains the standards
and permit requirements for the use of property within the County.
This land use team is composed of the professional planners that are responsible
for processing land use applications and providing staff support for the Board of
County Commissioners, Planning Commission, and Hearings Examiner.
The Land Use Division administers a number of permits and approvals that are required
by State Law and implemented by County Code.
