ALERT ! ! ! San Juan County Park Users (San Juan Island) ~
Between May 1, 2010 and September 30, 2010, a permit is required for all vessels launching from San Juan County Park. Permits are available from the San Juan Park office (at Smallpox Bay) 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. daily beginning May 1st, 2010.
Vessel operators will be required to attend a whale watch 'best practices' education program prior to receiving a permit. If you are paddling with one of our permitted kayak outfitters, a Parks permit is not required; the kayak guide will provide your training.
San Juan Island offers the most organized and developed visitor facilities, as well
as the town and historic port of Friday Harbor. To view information on San Juan

San Juan County Park is open for day use and overnight
camping on San Juan Island. Reservations for Summer camping (May - September) are
strongly recommended at this popular campground. See

This beautiful park, located on the west side of San Juan Island, includes rocky
bluffs and gravel beaches that overlook Haro Strait with views to the Straits of
San Juan de Fuca and Vancouver Island. Most sites have water views across an
open meadow surrounded by trees. Park amenities include water, flush toilets,
small picnic shelter, picnic tables, beach and boat launch.

Site #18 at San Juan County Park will continue to function as a walk-in site. Only two passenger vehicles will be allowed to park
near the entrance to the campsite-- NO campers, camper vans, RV's, or trailers of
any type will be allowed if you are using site #18; please select a site designated
for RV's.
As a safety item, vehicles must be parked at least five
feet (5') from the edge of the park road. Click

change fee applies to each reservation changed after it has been made.
RESERVATION PAYMENTS AND FEES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE AND ARE, at most, ONLY PARTIALLY
REFUNDABLE.
