Park Staff

  • Parks & Recreation Director, Dona Wuthnow
    The position of Director is an appointed Independent Contractor position pursuant to San Juan County Ordinance No. 13-2008. The Director shall report to the Administrator as required and shall be responsible for the supervision of personnel and facilities.
  • Administrative Assistant, Kathryn Hansen
    The position of Administrative Assistant is a full-time position hired by and reporting to the Parks & Recreation Director.
  • Office Assistant, Christina Giamalis
    The Office Assistant is a regular half-time position hired by the Director. The Office Assistant reports to the Administrative Assistant.
  • San Juan Island Park Manager, Joe Luma
  • Lopez Island Park Manager, Jodie Snapp
  • Shaw Island Park Manager, Katie McLane
    The Position of Park Manager is a regular, seasonal part-time/full-time position hired by the Director. The Park Managers report to the Parks & Recreation Director.
  • Assistant Park Manager
    The position of Assistant Park manager is a temporary, seasonal part-time/full-time position hired by the director. The Assistant Managers report to the Park Managers.
  • Park Aide
    The position of Park Aide is a temporary, seasonal part-time position hired by the Director. The Park Aides report to the Park Managers.

  • Long-term redesign plan & funding - Odlin County Park
  • Brann Cabin preservation - San Juan County Park
  • Building restoration/enhancement - San Juan County Park
  • New Information Kiosk - Shaw County Park
  • New Restroom and parking - Agate Beach Day Park (deferred due to lack of funding)
