Administrative Services was created in 1994 to assist the Board of Commissioners
in handling internal tasks necessary for a organization with over 200 full and part-time
employees. It is a "behind the scenes" department with six areas of responsibility:
personnel, computer services (called
Information Services), insurance &
risk management, the
Board of Equalization, the Law Enforcement
and Firefighter Disability Board and special projects. Nine employees work in Administrative
Services with the Director, answering directly to the County Administrator.
Administrative Services has changed a lot since 1994 and will continue to change
and grow as the management of the County demands greater attention from the 14
elected officials overseeing traditional and new programs within the County.
