Community Affairs & Improvement of the Legal System
The prosecutor's office firmly believes in giving something back to the community. Its members are encouraged to participate in educational, professional and civic activities.

He has served as chair of the County Law and Justice Council (2001 and 2006), president of the San Juan County Bar Association, trustee of the San Juan County Law Library, trustee of Washington Association of County Officials (WACO); trustee and officer of the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys' (WAPA) Civil Committee, chair of the ethics section of that committee, and speaks to other attorneys at least once a year on emerging issues.

Charles Z. Silverman served on a statewide "Blue Ribbon" Panel to review the handling of child sexual assault cases.
