Campers: Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult for overnight camping privileges. Please clean site of all trash before departure, using dumpsters and recycling bins provided in the park. CHECKOUT TIME IS 12:00 NOON. Campsites not paid for by noon will be considered empty.

Quiet hours: 10:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Loud noises such as vehicle horns, loud music, and loud talking will not be tolerated. Dive compressors and generators may only be operated between 11:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Chainsaws and fireworks are prohibited at all times.

RV’s/TRAILERS are not allowed in some campsites and are not advisable on Shaw. Check in with Park staff prior to occupying a campsite. No hook-ups are available.

PARKING ALLOWED IN DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY (not off paved or gravel).

NO EQUIPMENT SET-UP including, but not limited to a tent/awning, volleyball net, croquet set, event table and chairs, outside of your registered campsite, as this may create hazards for other park users.

Pets must be leashed at all times! Owners are responsible for clean up. Owners of dangerous or disturbing animals (especially barking dogs) may be asked to remove pet(s) from the Park.

Chasing or harassing wildlife in any way is prohibited. Turkeys, rabbits, deer, seals and otters are best viewed from a distance as to not disturb them. If you are concerned about a particular animal, please contact Park staff.

Paths are for foot traffic only. Skating and bicycle, skateboard, and moped riding is allowed on park roads only and is prohibited in all other areas.

No cliff climbing. The cliffs in the Parks are not stable and climbing can create rockslides and potential hazards.

No firewood gathering. Burning beach logs damages our firerings, and we prefer to manage fallen limbs and trees in the park ourselves. Firewood is generally available for purchase at the Park office for a modest charge.

Fires in established fire pits only. It is illegal to leave a fire unattended. Put your fire out completely before going to bed or leaving the campground. Fires may not be permitted during certain hazardous times of the year. Beach fires are not permitted.

Water is limited in the islands. Please do not run water continuously; wash items in containers. No vehicle or boat washing. No filling RV tanks. Please help us use water wisely.

Commercial Use
All commercial operators are required to obtain a permit from the Parks and Recreation Director to use any San Juan County park for a business-related purpose. Permits are generally valid from the date of issue to the end of the calendar year. Park use without a valid permit is grounds for immediate denial of use privileges. Call Parks Administration office at (360) 378-8420 for information. Arrangements must be finalized at least 2 weeks prior to group use; allow ample time.

Special Events - PROGRAM SUSPENDED FOR 2009
Non-recreation events such as (but not limited to) weddings, birthday parties and receptions.

Groups
Groups of nine to 30 people will be accommodated in special Group Camp areas on a space available basis (Shaw Park can only accommodate 15 maximum). In order to minimize adverse impacts, groups with more than 30 people cannot be accommodated at any of the parks from Memorial Day weekend to mid-October. Groups must call (360) 378-8420 to reserve space by mail, beginning on January 5. Arrangements must be finalized at least 2 weeks prior to group stay; allow ample time.
