Thursday, May 3 2012 - Members of the San Juan County Council will tour three selected wetlands on San Juan Island Monday, May 7 as part of its information-gathering process on issues involved in the Critical Areas Ordinance update (CAO).
The Council will begin the day early, convening at 8:45 a.m. in the Council Hearing Room to review the Planning Commission’s draft of the wetlands section of the CAO. The tour will begin after a short lunch break.
The public is welcome to attend, however parking at some of the locations is limited so individuals are strongly encouraged to car pool. The Council also asks all people attending to show respect for the properties that will be visited and the landowners who are offering access.
Those who wish to follow the Council on the tour should gather in the Council Hearing Room, At 55 Second St. in Friday Harbor at 12:15 p.m. Directions and other information will be provided at that time. The tour is expected to last until approximately 5 p.m.
